“Persons of high self-esteem are not driven to make themselves superior to others; they do not seek to prove their value by measuring themselves against a comparative standard. Their joy is being who they are, not in being better than someone else.” Nathaniel Branden
Comparing ourselves to others is a violent act against ourselves. Yet, it is something that many of us do on a regular, maybe even daily, basis. This is a recipe for being miserable. It robs us of our joy and authenticity. Next time you find yourself comparing yourself to another person, take a deep breath and bask if the sparkling, wonderfulness that YOU are.
