I gave up making New Year’s Resolutions years ago. I am naturally a very reflective person year around, and I’m consistently setting intentions and goals for myself and my life throughout the year. I do, however, enjoy the week between Christmas and New Year’s as a time to reflect on the year and set intentions for the upcoming one. This year I decided to set 12 intentions for the year 2012. Here are just a few (I’m still working on coming up with my others):
~Keep a gratitude journal regularly.
~Practice presence as often as possible.
~Pay down debt (pay off car loan~woo hoo!).
~Consistently work to choose love over fear.
~Go to White Lotus for a yoga teacher training (Can. Not. Wait.)
~Cultivate relationships to form deeper and more meaningful connections.
I also always choose a theme word or words for the year. For 2011, my theme was Joyful Authenticity which you can read more about here. I will be posting about my 2012 theme in a day or two…you can be sure it’s going to include some *sparkle*! I’d encourage you to choose a theme word or words for your focus in 2012. I’ve been doing this for a few years, and it is always amazing to me how at the end of the year, I am able to reflect on all the happenings and instances in my life that year that truly did reflect my theme. Once you choose you’re theme word or words, please feel free to share it here, too!
Hope you’re finishing off 2011 with some sparkle!
